Additional Sustainability Services
Please be aware that toner cartridges, computer monitors, batteries, cell phones and other hazardous materials are banned from landfill disposal. Because of their toxicity, these cannot go into our trash compactor. The building's janitorial staff cannot dispose of these items for you. Tenants are encouraged to participate and dispose of miscellaneous e-waste items through Green Citizen.
Please check with your toner cartridge provider for disposal. They often pick up used toners with your new deliveries. In most cases, toner comes with a self-addressed envelope and information detailing the directions for sending back for recycling. Hewlett Packard toner cartridges come with a self addressed return sticker that can be placed on a box and shipped via UPS. A UPS drop off box is located on the first floor.
Batteries and Cell Phones
A “Green Citizen” kiosk is located in The Mills Building lobby (near the Tower side restrooms) for household batteries, CDs, and cell phone recycling. This is a free service for tenants.
The Swig Company is offering tenants a convenient and accountable solution to e-waste disposal. Once a month, on the fourth Thursday of each month, Green Citizen will schedule pick-ups for your e-waste directly from your suite. Contact Green Citizen at least 48-hours in advance at 415.287.0000 X 707 or via emial at SFpickup@greencitizen.com. Please provide a list of items to be picked up and let Green Citizen know your suite location. Pick-ups will be during the morning of the pick-up date around 10:30am.
Bike racks are available at no cost to tenants only. They are located in The Mills Building basement and are available on a first come first serve basis. For more information, please contact the Property Management Office at 415.421.1444 and have an authorized tenant representative complete and return the "Bicycle Parking Waiver of Liability" form to the Property Management Office.
A Goodwill bin is located at The Mills Building garage for the disposal of household items, clothing, etc.
